This was a very cool show. First off the security was really loose that night. So if you wanted to you could go on stage and sing your favorite Less Than Jake song with the band. At this show we got to see how far some guys would go for a free shirt. Less Than Jake mostly played their older stuff which is cool since the new album was barely released. Less Than Jake did this really cool cover of "Sweet Home Alabama" when this forty year old trucker guy came up on stage. "Rock and Roll" It looked like he might have got out of hand when he started pushing some of the kids but settled down and finnally got off the stage after a few songs. I only have one word for that "Weird" Any way as I said before it was a cool show and afterward I stayed around and talked to Chris and the rest of the band. These guys are totally cool Buddy the t-bone player was cool it was just like hangin' with a bunch of your friends from school.
BAKE: security was preatty leaniant tonight eh?
Buddy: Yeah it was cool we don't mind people coming up on stage. If they can get up hear it is cool with us. The security are the ones who ussually stop it.
BAKE: how did the whole streaking at shows start, Any thing to do with the title of the new album.
Chris: I don't know, just started happening, I think that a few people did it and then it just started happening more often. The INTER-Net is probably partially responsable, things would happena and then get spread over the internet.
BAKE: Do you feel any change since you signed with Capitol.
Chris: No nothing has changed really we handle all the merchandising and the tours are all done by us. We go through a cool booking agent, the same one as Skankin' Pickle and The Voodoo Glow Skulls. Capitol basically is just our distributer.
BAKE: Yeah I noticed you guys still drive the blue and white van. Chris: Cool, Yeah man got to keep it real. no Ferraris or women here.
BAKE: Are their any plans for more Bruce Lee stuff?
Chris: on this tour we will be doing about 7 or 8 shows with Mike Park. We will go on just before The Less Than Jake set for about 15 min.
Buddy: Yeah it wil be cool because these guys we be all warmed up and ready to go when we start. Mike has been really wanting to play since he left Skankin' Pickle so he kind of begged us to do it.
Chris: We also plan on putting out a new CD sometime in the spring it will either be on Asian Man (Mike Parks Label) or Dr. Strange Records.
BAKE: what about that Grease soundtrack?
Chris: (Laughs) Still working on it we haven't had the time or the money to get in the recording studio.
BAKE: One last thing I was wondering, who Howie Renyolds was the guy you mention in Jen and he says a little blurb at the start of the new album?
Chris: It's a real guy, he is our 73 year old neighbor .He is on the posters and in the middle of the CD liners the old guy who is crowd surfing. He is really cool we party and drink with him.

C: How was the east coast tour?
B: The east coast tour was pretty good.
V: Yeah, the east coast tour was good.
B: It was better than this one because there was shorter distances between places.
V: You get to hand out with people more, but now were stuck in nine hour drives.
B: Yeah, Exactly!
V: Through the desert.
C: Where's your next show?
B: In-
B+V: Reno
V: We're going to be doing some gambling, you know betting on the horses.
B: Slot Machines, watchin' the greyhounds.
C: Do you guys drink beer?
V: I don't, he does though.
C: What's your favorite beer?
B: What's my favorite beer?
C: Yeah
B: You just opened a new can of worms here. (Laughter) I would have to think about it for a while. My favorite type of beer is a vice beer. It's like a milkey, lighter beer. It's not like a real thick stout or whatever. But it has the thick consistency of a stout. It's a little lighter.
C: Is that your van over there? [Pointing to a blue and white van]
V: The blue and white.
B: Yep thats the blue and white.
V: The best '79 had to offer.
B: It was the best ever. Chevy Nomad.
C: Did you buy or rent it?
B: Yea, we bought it a while ago.
V: You don't rent a '79 (Laughter) If you do, you're getting ripped off.
C: Have you been working hard touring and recording and all?
B: Yea, since December.
V: It's been busy.
B: We toured all of may. Well actually all of April we were writing songs, then touring. Then in June and July we were recording and mixing and stuff like that. And then we went on tour again in September and then we took a little break. Now were on tour again, so it's been pretty busy.
V: Yea
C: Are you going to take another break after this tour.
B: Yea, were going to take another little break in the blizzard of ninety seven. (Laughter) Then we're going back out in the end of February or something. Then we're touring again.
C: I heared that you guys had a dog in the family named Jake. It got treated better than anyone else in the family so you named the band Less Than Jake.
B: That was him.
V: Yea, we had a huge bulldog. My parents fed it better than anyone else. So everything was less than jake in my family. And I'm speaking the truth here. That's some fuckin' true shit. (Laughter) Other than that we basically-our hobbies out driving around bored in the van (Laughter) You know, touring around. That's about it.
C: What's going on with the Bruce Lee Band?
V: That's us and Mike Parks.
C: Did he leave Skankin Pickle to join the Bruce Lee Band.
B+V: No, No, that's not it.
V: No, we were doing the Bruce Lee Band before Skankin Pickle broke up.
B: That's a totally differnt thing.
C: Yea, last time you came with Skankin Pickle the Bruce Lee Band only played one song.
B: Yea, they were supposed to play a whole set, but he chickened out.
V: He got kinda wimpy on us. He went limp after one song.
C: Yea, they played for ever.
B: Do you like Skankin Pickle?
C: Mmm, No really but I don't mind listing to it. I went to see you guys last time. They just came a few weeks ago with MU330, I think.
V: Yea, well Skankin Pickle are still around, Mike Parks outa there. (Laughter)
C: Have you guys played here before, a long time ago?
B: Yea, A while ago. Back in January, I think. What do you think of the Nile?
C: Well the owners son is the one who opperates it apparently. He prints up flyers saying it will be a five dollar cover, then that night jacks the price up to seven. It's gotta be fusterating to the poor punx who collect enough change to get in, then they find out it's more.
B: That's pretty wacked.
V: Yea, that's fucked up.
B: Yea, that's what we heared, he's more in it for the buisness ends of things.
C: Yea, Jocks seem to show up here alot to, I guess it's not bad if there not assholes. But they're usually all macho and shit. You'll see 'em.
V: We usually see all kinds of people here, it;s good to have a mix.
B: Yea, as longs as they're not assholes it's cool.
V: Yea, It pretty much ruins a good time for everybody. Statistically I can see were you are coming from though.
B: Dude, I'm bummed out man. It's been a long fucking week, I've been here a long fuckin' time. (Laughter)
After this we talked for a while mostly boring stuff that was too boring to put in this interview so I left it out. Vinnie ended the conversation with saying "Oh shit, we're on."
